Got some large felling spikes for my echo, because... I wanted to. I haven’t seen any other posts about this mod, but it’s definitely an option for the timber wolf guys on here. I got these on ebay. The powdercoat on them is nice but I had to track down a screw for the outer spikes.

20210321_122718.jpg I just did the full wrap on mine last week. May need to look into the bigger spikes as the stock ones are about useless.

I did a full tear down on one I have and gave it a full wrap, unlimited coil and a 620 piston and cylinder. Made for a really nice saw. Not sure which dogs I have though, have to check definitely need the big ones if I don’t have them already. I like the 590 platforms lot. Good price and good power.

Del Eaves did the port work on my saw about 4 years ago. Never given me any problems. There good saws even with just a muffler mod.

Would you be able to link to the spikes you bought? I have the 590 as well and have been considering the same upgrade

I like the bigger dogs and the full wrap handles. However, on my 362 with 5 point Pro-Safety dogs, I ended up trimming down the bottom spikes a little, because they would provide too much leverage and throw my bar into the wood too hard. Trimming them back, reduced the amount of leverage, and helped to correct that. But they still hang out plenty.
