OK, here is how it is going to work. I will put up two polls at the same time, one for the top handle and another for the muffler; these polls will run for 3 days. Based on the votes I will then complete the build.

I will then put the completed saw up for bids for 3 days only. If no didders then saw will go back to the parts bins.

Had I not bought the 665, it would have been mine. No questions asked. I will still scrape up some scratch. .

I sure hope someone takes advantage of this. This is a phenomenal saw.

Just had one of the local tree service companys stop by with a pickup truck full of saws to repair. All Stihl 441s and 361/362s for repair (23 saws). My God, those ground crew guys are hard on saws! Some stuck tight, others with almost NO compression, one even had the chain on backwards!

So, I will be 'off the air' for the next little while.

They do this to me twice a year, February before the summer business gets going and July/August before the fall season gets going. They bring all the chit they broke in the previous 6 months. This time Stihls, last time Husqvarna. Usually can't fix all of them but most times they get back 75-80% of what they bring. I then end up with trash barrels full of parts some can be used some can't!

I like the 375 sticker, makes it distinctive & a conversation point.

When you have the chance, could you get the power head weights? Full of fluids ready to go & dry?

I'm also curious how the compression & squish came out.

This has been a great idea/post!

More like 'a pile of chit' to work on, some have really been rode hard and put away wet. One a near new 441CM stuck tighter than a drum!

Since a base gasket was used, did not even measure the squish, factory usually set squish between .030-.050. Mdavelee offered to port the saw, he likes gaskets so that is what I did. Saw is set pig rich on the top end 11.9-12.5 pulling the chain. Compression dry was 130 with oil 145 or so, saw has barely 20 mins on it. It is not full nor empty right now so perhaps later.

On a 372 xp, stock compression is around 130-145. So that's about perfect!

    Good job KRL!

Largest tree service in the city of Rochester and surrounding suburbs. Do both residential, commercial and are under contract to the utilities company to do line clearing and storm related tree removal. Probably in excess of 60 crews out of three locations. Family owned business so they use stuff until there is nothing left of it. Broken non useful parts I get to throw away but any useful stuff goes back to them even if it doesn't run. Tried to buy from them before, no go, they even want the scrap metal back! Most of the stuff they use is just old rebuilt junk, if they bought more than three saws a year I would be surprized!

Nice guys but TIGHT REALLY TIGHT.

Did the CM first because it was clean! Saw is fine, they must have gotten into some kind of very small cable, it was wound so tight around the crank on both sides that the saw would not even turn over. Don't ask how they did it, most 'ground crew' guys are not up for a job with Robert Oppenheimer! Got it all out, saw started on second pull. They came to get it immediately!
