Still helping the neighbor clear some trees. Cut and split some cherry tonight. brought it home to get stacked for next year. Getting really close to being on a 3 year plan.
I’d love to get my hands on some of this “cherry” that everyone on here is always talking about it. I’ve never even seen it in my area.
The closest thing you may find that's native in your area is Southwestern Choke Cherry, it has the same aroma and burns quite well.
There are several more to get here in the next few days. Heading down to camp later today so that is on hold. Maybe finish up Sunday.
Congratulations Ron; you are close to 3 years. The rest is easy and then it gets even easier. I hope that corn is yours. It looks good. Around here there are some good stands of it but also some very poor spots from too much rain right after planting. It will all be better than last year.
Don’t get much but cherry smells nice when processing. Just started on a pile of Black Birch yesterday. Such a nice change from Black Locust and oak LOL
My favorite wood to process because of the smell. If they bottled it up and sold it as perfume, I cant be held responsible for what I may do!
I get quite a bit of cherry around here, usually give it to a friend for his fireplace. I’ll burn it but really like it for smoking. We got these 3 or 4 cherry trees that we dragged out and bucked. Got 2 trailer loads and 1 truck load yield. 15 minutes from home.
