Does anyone else get a layer of really fine oily sawdust in the intake horn on their 562 husky? I’m not sure it’s causing any trouble (yet) but it’s always there when I pull the filter. And it can’t be doing the engine any favors. I put a really thin o-ring in the groove on the filter but it was an old and kinda hard one. That made the keeper clip really tight but didn’t really stop it. Any ideas ????
One of the knock on of the 562xp. The new filter system on the 572xp is supposed to be much improved. I put a thin layer of grease around the base, and it seems to help. Your other option is a high stack filer.
This issue has been discussed on other sites and the general consensus is that the very fine particles that manage to get in don't do any harm as they are so small and fine. I certainly don't, however, like the idea of anything getting through the filter media or around the base, etc. I have a 555 and I have put a thin layer of grease around the base AND a small bead of grease between the upper and lower halves of the two piece filter. The area where the filter halves snap together is where the fines were getting through on mine. A little grease fixed the issue on mine.
It should help if the filter is clean and free of oil. As it gets plugged, their looks for an alternative way in. Grease helps

Do like Ronaldo suggested ,and it should eliminate the fines from the horn . I do it on all my saws ,regardless of make ,or model . Also , a really well maintained chain goes a long way to help with this problem as well .
