Hoe much wood is in a standard pick up load? I see alot of people in my neck of the woods offering firewood for sale in a "level" pick up load. I've read different accounts of the amounts. I use a trailer and tahoe to get my firewood, so not familiar with pick ups
This is really how you need to figure it out. There's a lot of variables with a pick up bed full. There's a lot of difference in a full size 8' bed compared to a 5' compact pickup's bed.
I have a F-150 with 5 1/2' bed. I put a measured face cord or a bit more on each load we sell stacked tight.
I figured it was about a face cord or little more. I laugh when I see a seller says "pickup full, and its almost a cord." Guess they're not lying if they mean face cord.
A full sized bed (8’) on my ford measures about 72 cubic feet when stacked bed level so that’s just over half a cord
Good to know. That's what I have. I still prefer to load up the trailer though. It holds 2 face cords unstacked, just plopped in and rounded at the top so nothing falls out fits in it. That 4x8 trailer gets lost behind the F-150 though. You can barely see it, and only because of the flip up rear gate/ ramp. Using my neighbors 5x8 with a taller rear ramp/gate is much easier to back up because you can see it easier. My next trailer will be bigger because of this, and the fact that the 42" Deere ztr just barely fit on that 4x8, and my ariens 48" deck won't fit unless you remove the deck. No bigger ztr will fit.
