I did that already with the same results. I will do it again just to double check that I didn't miss anything. Thanks

Make sure the oil hole on the saw itself doesn't have any junk in it too.

When you lay the bar on the base/oil plate, make sure the oil hole is lined up and within range of the oil groove.

20" is the max for that saw and oiler, so you of may not see a lot anyways. After you run it/rev it, pull on the chain (saw shut off and pulling from bottom of bar) and see if the drive links look oiled inside the bar groove.

If they look oiled, then it's probably getting oiled, it's just the max for that saw.

Or run the saw with the bar off and clutch cover off. If it's coming from the oiler slot? Then all is well (as long as the hole on the bar lines up).

The right bar for the saw ?
Like Dex said, does the bar oil hole lines up with the oil slot on the saw ?

Thanks guys, that's something I would never have thought to check. That's why I like hanggin around here so much. I checked the location and it is lined up. After my last cleaning it seems ok and is getting oil. I did 4 test runs with the saw placed on plywood and had a decent amount of oil on the wood after. I also had a few good size drips under the clutch when finished but believe this is normal. I will post a pic when I get a chance later today. Thanks again.

For that saw with a 20", that's perfect. IMO.

What an excellent way to illustrate what's happening with your saw. Looks good!

Well I got to run the baby saw today for a few cuts before it was time to clean up the girls. A lot better than I remember a 346 being. Video in poplar. If I remember right the ported 390 cut a touch under 5 seconds in the same log and stock 385 a little over 6. It did have a good chain on it though and made good chips.

Are you running 3/8 chain on it?

Oregon CL touched up with a file. I bought a loop of RS yesterday for it.

Looks like you have another dead one about 100 yards further back :) Better get to work Mike.

    Sounds like a nice runner.

I may do something stupid at the GTG and trade or sell one of my saws to get another 550xp.. And actually run it this time ;)

Yeah that tree in the back ground has a dead half on the ground already. Its about 5.5-6' on the stump. Its going to fall on its own. I like it so far. Its a big change from the 088 and 48" with a mill.

Yep. Might have to pick up a 20" and try it out.
