Ours doesn't have quick attach either, made a rig to fasten forks on bucket. That hill looks like the one we are dealing with right now. Wish I was closer, might could help you out.

Do you have tire chains? Liquid in your rear tires or weights? I have similar hills on my property. My tires are filled with fluid foo weight. My tractor doesn’t get up and down the hills very well if the ground is snow covered if I don’t have my tire chains on. Actually I don’t even attempt it anymore without my chains.

Slocum Chains?? It took me several attempts to convince southern members that even 4wd needed chains in snow!

Luckily fuelrod and other know snow!!

    @slocom, no chains yet.

I also plan on getting 3" spacers to widen the rear stance.

Not 100% sure, but I think I read that these tires should not be weighted, but I could be wrong.

I widened my rear stance also. That made a difference but the fluid in my tires made all the difference. It handles like a different tractor.

Ok, got out the manual to recheck.

Pg 55 states that water & calcium chloride can be added to rear tires.

But it also states that while the backhoe is installed, the liquid ballast should be removed.

I seldom remove the backhoe, but obviously would if I use it in a log skidding operation.

How difficult is it to add and remove the liquid ballast?

Ok, so some 'net searching shows unsurprisingly that I'm not alone in this situation.

One person sent an email to Kubota about liquid ballast and the backhoe.

    Their response noted..

So it appears they want the rear tires to lose traction in the event that the operator tries to work the front end too hard.

Seems that as long as I don't get stupid, then there shouldn't an issue.

I did search for wheel weights, and found it surprising that I've not come up with a good link yet.

I wouldn’t use calcium chloride. Very corrosive. I wouldn’t add liquid to tires if I had to remove it. I filled my tires myself for 160$ with windshield washer fluid. Washer fluid isn’t as heavy at steel ballast or some use beet juice. But if I cut a gash in my tire I’m not out much. I looked into wheel weights but there wasn’t a lot of options. It was expensive for no more weight than they added for my 3301 kubota

I am also a believer in chains and loaded tires, I don't have chains on my current tractor yet that is 4wd, and it won't go anywhere that I use to go with my old tractor that was 2wd with chains.

We have started reloading one side of the woodshed for next winter. Today my oldest and I moved and stacked 3 full cords to the shed. I am thankful that he was willing. The rtv we borrowed from the father in law.

This was the first load of the day.

After those loads he swapped the trailer to the RTV and put the carryall on the tractor.

He kept me hopping as I spent most of the day stacking. He would load, drive, swap out the vehicles at the shed... he was often waiting on me. Lol.

To skid out logs before i bought my winch, i just welded up some 1/4" angle into a rack and bought a pair of log tongs for 75 bucks. Probably had $125 in the thing.

Don't have a welder, and it's been nearly 20-25 yrs since I've welded anything.

But, I will find a way.

I do believe I will weight the tires and might only go with 2" spacers as from what I researched, the 3" can be a bit hard on the rear bearings.

Ahh, well im not really a welder either lol. Heres a pic, if you have a buddy with a welder im sure he could weld it up for you cheap.

2" would probably give a pretty noticeable change in stability. I think i had 2" on my 2305 also.
