Good enough. Level and secure. It is totally not the pictured item on the website. No clue why the bolt holes keyways are so goofy, but I worked with what I had. No more rocking!
Great job there! The bolt holes are like that so you can adjust the toilet position and not have to worry about where you mount the flange.
Yeah, they weren't at symmetric offsets, I found it strange. i.e. the center of one slot being 3 o'clock, I would have expected the center of the other to be at 9. It also looked wrong to screw the 4 screws in and not have the dead front/ back. To get the most friendly alignment of the T-bolt slots, I had to keep twisting, ending up with what you see here. Pretty sure I did it right... but don't like it when things don't make sense to my little brain.
it allows you to rotate the toilet to get it straight, you should figure the center of the slot, not the end so you can rotate CCW, CW to orientate the toilet
Also IMO and long time experience, wax rings are far superior to foam, want to prove it ?? set a toilet with the foam ring, go on the roof and plug the vent, then go to the toilet and fill the bowl to the brim with a bucket, watch it, it will slowly go down meaning you have an air leak. This is the correct way to teat a waste drain Now before all you remodelers tell me how you pass plumbing inspections, most inspectors are not going to take the time to make you do this but it is the only correct way to determine if there is a leak.
But the first time the toilet moves...and most do sooner or later...that wax ring is junk. I'd rather have a 99% seal for life with a foam seal than 100%/0% with a wax seal. That's why I like the Fernco waxless (rubber) seals...best of both worlds.
This is why I like the perfect seal, it uses wax to mate the seal to the floor and silicone to mate the seal to the toilet. Awesomeness.
