Check in the BIOS as you start the computer to see if the hard drive is listed as a boot device.

If it was me working on it, and I looked up the definition to F2, it would say: F2 = FU :picard:

F3 or F8, I can't remember. I think on mine it's the delete key. The POST writing might tell you if you can see it fast enough.

All my Dell puters were/are F2, but they're all laptops.

F2 while booting did nothing. I'll try something else, after I re verify that all of the connection s area good. I really didn't mess with much though.

    Which model is this Horkn?
Have you been to Dell's website? They have a support page where you can put in your computer's "service Tag" and get a bunch of info. Done that yet?

    Dell optiplex 7010
I'll try that. I've been on their website to get it to go through POST. Which it seems to be getting issues with doing since it doesn't put anything, absolutely nothing no cursor, no Dell logo, on the screen. The flashing yellow power light doesn't she be anything good either

Can't say which computers but I've used F2, F8, and F11 during boot to get to safety in the past, but one or all were hit the F key repeatedly til the safe mode screen came on, not just press it once or hold it down.

So somehow I must have bonked the RAM.

Now back to where I started with this.....

Do I simply just plug in the old PC's SATA HDD in to see if I can get access to the stuff on the old hdd on the new pc?

    Do I've dare tempt fate?

First try pulling the RAM sticks and putting them back in.
This is the new computer we're talking about here, right?
