Pick up another bar and get cuttin... You'll need it eventually and it'll be more expensive then anyways.

I received the bar yesterday. Looks like it is 20'' .325 .050 80dl. Im not finding a Stihl part number for an equal to this. Do you know if they have an equal ?

You're most likely going to need one cut from the roll. ALL (well, almost) Stihl .325 bars are .063 gauge and hence so are all the pre-made loops.

The marketing number of the loop you need would be 23RS-80, but it would probably be easier to find a dealer that cuts chain off a bulk reel.

Most Stihl dealers have loops on hand & can make what you need.
    Give them a call,
Stihl has RS in your size : Part # 3637 :

We'll there was another issue I ran into that I didn't mention. When I tried to put the loop on, I couldn't get it on even though it was .325 050. I called the place I got the saw from ,and they said the wrong chain must have been in the correct box and would just send me another. Tonight I decided to stop in at my local dealer and see if they could hook me up with the correct chain so I could finally fire this thing up. It was here that it was determined that it was the wrong bar as the sprocket was 3/8.
Anyway ,while I was still at the dealer I
Called the place I got the saw from ...and after a bit of discussion :whistle:they agreed to just pay for a new bar and chain from my dealer. I now have a 3/8 050 72DL and was able to finally make a few cuts  Very impressed so far !
    Thanks for the replies .

    Great news
    I think you'll be happy with the 3/8 x .050 x 20"
Now you should be able to get an RS that size pretty easy.
    Most common size chain sold is 3/8 x .050 x 20"

33RS-72 is the Stihl chain for that bar. Very good decision going that route with the bar!

Ok, another question. I made a few more cuts this morning and noticed I wasn't getting the bar oil to spray from the end of the bar as I thought it should. I adjusted the oiler to the max setting and still didn't get much spray from the end of the bar at 3/4 throttle but the oil was noticeable on the chain and dripping on the ground under the saw. Is this normal ?

Time to remove the bar & chain and clean the grooves and oiler holes out.

I tested my stock 550 with 20" 3/8. I like the 16" 3/8 on them but the 20" buried in cut is oh hum boring IMO. I wouldnt unless it has good port work.

If you have the Husqvarna bar, "Farm-tough"
they are notorious for plugging up at the oil hole on the bar.
I had to clean mine out frequently. Finally went to an Oregon pro-lite
Hasn't plugged since I put it on.

Yup it's the farm tough bar. I only made 5 or six cuts in a 18" round with the new bar ,when I noticed the bar was pretty dry. I took the bar off tonight and the clutch had oil all over it . I cleaned it all up , but the oiler hole didn't look plugged up. I wiped it down and blew it out with the compressor and put back on. I have it set on max oil and it still doesnt seam like it flies off the end of the bar like it should. Had a few drops fall on my shoe from falling out of the bottom of the saw. The chain did have oil on it though. Should it spray out pretty good at 3/4 throttle ?

I drill that oil hole out to 5/32" in the bar. The bars are sometimes about half hard (32-44RC) so use some pressure on the bit to the point where you think it is about to break through.

Both my husqy's leak oil out when I let them set a while after running.
They stop leaking when the oil line is empty, never seem to drain the oil out of the tank when sitting a long time.

This happens when I am running the saw. The saw is new with about 10 min of run time on it. I just want to make sure it is doing what is supposed to do as I have never owned a saw of this caliber before.

If you're getting little to no spray off the end of the bar and gobs of oil dripping out from under the clutch cover, that's not really normal. I get oil buildup under the cover if I rev a saw extensively (ie: carb tuning) without putting it to wood but if run in the wood, you really should get minimal oil buildup.

I was running the saw for about 1 min. at 3/4 throttle not in wood just trying to get it to spray off the bar. Tried reving it up for a couple of short burst. I got very little almost no spray but it was dripping out under clutch cover.

I'd say your oil passages on the bar are clogged up. Scrape the bar groove out real good and make sure the oiler holes aren't blocked. Happens to me more often than I'd like.
