Non E is pretty convenient for me. I don't run any E 10 except the wifes vehicle.

Keep the old one...it will dry out and fit fine again after a while...and the new one will probably do the same thing. You almost have to rotate them.

Are you sure? Sounds like you do if your cap is swelling up.

I was paying 4.21/Gallon when the station near us had ethanol free. Saved in the long run as I only had to fill up once per week. With E10 I was filling up almost 2 times per week.

Shame they shut down, nowhere near has it now. I try to run a few tanks of the Ethanol free mix in the OPE.

Corn was made for drinkin, not drivin!

But that was the way the cap was when i bought the "$20 poulan". I have no idea what he used. I use real fuel. I promise. Unless I'm getting scammed at the pump.

We only get the E10 garbage here. In my two stroke blower and chainsaw I use the quart bottles of 93. Expensive, but hey start, run and work better, I think. If you have an airport nearby you can get 105 octane airplane fuel. By law it can't have Ethanol in it because it freezes when it absorbs water.

There are a few ways to deEthanol your gasoline which involve adding water, shaking then draining the water from the bottom of the tank. Ethanol is a powerful cleaner. When the gas is fresh you will never get sludge in your fuel system. It gums up when old and has absorbed water. Ethanol fuel lasts about six months without stabilizer.

    Outside Power Equipment.

I believe MasterMech answered that on the previous page.

Removing the ethanol from gasoline will lower the octane rating substantially. I'm no chemist but adding water to the fuel (are you ever really sure you removed all of the water/ethanol combination afterwards?) seems just a little more risky than using the stuff as is. ;)

I've talked to a couple guys that deliver to gas stations and they say that since E10 became universal around here, residual water levels in every station's holding tanks have dropped substantially.

If you know your fuel has Ethanol in it, and you take steps to deal with it, there is no reason you can't enjoy reliable service from your equipment for years to come. It's all in the proper storage habits and maintaining a reasonable supply so that you are not storing fuel for months at a time.

There are some blindly in the E gas boat but many stations sell the regular gas, I like giving the stations that only sell E gas a hard time.

If you have 2 or 3 caps (IIRC they are dirt cheap) you can rotate them. One in the machine, one drying out, and one good to go. And people say Stihl's flippy caps are complicated!

No doubt given the nature of the beast.

Just for kicks guys, check out my location on that map. (Pine Bush NY or 12566) It's like a no man's land for E-Free fuel. Closest one is about an hour and a half drive. :(

Last I checked no one anywhere near me was selling it. I'll look again.
