Thanks Ray. I need to move the hook about an inch to the left to line it up just right but it seems to work great. I also cut all the excess cable off which really made that sucker move fast.

I will see about a better video fellas or pics at least. Right now I am painting the cross support and frame that I welded in after the video. Its pretty sexy! Now I need to get a marine battery and battery box but that might wait a few weeks as I can tie it to the truck for now as long as the truck is running. I am gonna use an old heavy duty extension cord for a few weeks.. :emb:

Well here is the final product! I sprayed the terminals on the winch with liquid tape to keep them clean from the elements as well as the cable ends to seal them from corrosion. The switch is mounted on the top of the pole and I cut about 7' of cable off it and re wired the whole thing with the ignition wire to the hot so it works without a key. I decided to keep the remote box in case but it will probably never get used lol. The grey box is an out door wiring box that the battery wires are wound up and stored insider of to keep them clean as well. I left just enough cable on the winch to lift and lower the table so it runs faster ( which it does! ) and then I found some wire looms from my engine swap so I cleaned them up and put them over as much of the wire as I could then zipped them on.

Hey Pete, looks great. I see you decided not to use the winch to haul big pcs to the lift tray? (short cable)

After I used the winch I realized just how light duty the winch is so I decided to not wear it out pulling long loads. A short burst up and down will make it last far longer. The nice part is the which comes apart easily so I can grease the gears every now and then.

Ok fellas here is the complete job minus new wheel wells and a battery box. The wheel wells are in a few weeks and I found an old metal tool box I'll probably add for the battery to set in when I'm not towing it around.

You know with a couple door heavy duty door hinges and 4*4's set in the ground at the same height as the splitter beam you cold build a nice little lift! Hook it to a pulley and a pin so when the ram goes back up goes the lift…. If I had pics Id show you but I can't find them  we did that with an old door attached when we used to rent a splitter a long time ago.

Hmmmm. may try something like that when I get the time to play around with the idea. I got an old winch I could use.

Pete, if you build one of those, sleeve the pivot hole with some PVC or something.
Saw that vid a while back...
