There was red, white and black oak planks. I'm the opposite where I use sawn finished planks for woodworking and I believe you need to identify them on the stump.

Years ago I saw sections of different species of trees in the round. They were cut down the middle and out at a 45 degree angle. You could see the bark, end grain and flat sawn grain. I have to dig that pic up from the old computer...

Here are the logs. Pretty neat identifiers.

This was the cabin at the museum that they were in.

i hit a scatter rug hidden in the grass. Messed a whole lot up. Had to have repair service. I had one of those fancy warranties so the repair man came to the house and fixed it here. Sorry I did that!

Caffeine going in. Woke up to dogs barking away. Came down to see what the commotion was all about. Someone had hit a deer in front of the house, again. Wife was just telling me when I got home last night that somebody had hit a deer in front of the house a few hours before. That’s two in a 12 hour time frame. Ugh.

It happens. But if people would slow down when the come to a hill it would happen a lot less. There is a big apple tree that sits back off the road a little ways, near the top of the hill, and the deer love to come and eat the apples on the ground.

A couple days off from the 12 hour grind. Wife and kids are off for the Holiday as well. We are going to all go do something together today. Just need to decide what that will be.
