Hey FB, thanks so much, I am pretty happy with it. Can't wait to burn (Mid 90s all week here, ugh)

The liner is a bit awkward. I first laid it out on the lawn and straightened it best I could as it was all coiled up in a box. It kinda has a mind of its own but you can work it pretty straight. I did this alone! Goal was for my wife to pass it to me up on the roof, however she was out food shopping and being the impatient person I am I decided to give it a go alone as I had it already rigged to pull down the chimney. I threw the rope on the roof and got up there heave hoed it up to the first roof just pulling the rope. It was a bit heavy, long and awkward and I was giving it my all but I got it up. Once my wife got home we began pulling it down. Dropped the rope down and when I started pulling up to 2nd roof I just started feeding it down chimney while my wife pulled. Went pretty easy except for throat part. But a couple times pulling liner back up and her pulling down we got past fairly quick. At min I'd recommend a light helper to just help pull it down and do small things to assist. If you can get another guy, it def will make it easier. This was my 1st go at anything like this and its far from perfect but am here to help in anyway and share my experience. I planned this out for weeks and went over it in my head a bunch times. Originally was gonna ovalize part of the liner but decided to cut out part of the damper as recommended by many.

Looking real good, and good call on the crown coat. Just redid mine but I used the same brand but went with the trowelable crown coat. Worked so well I did my boiler chimney crown next and gave the rest to the neighbor to do his.

    Nice work!

They really are not that difficult to install.

Thanks for the crown coat idea BCB, I need to do mine as I have a few cracks on mine as well.

Here's my post (with pic) from 2016. The chimney top in the pic is from my old house. I had enough product left over to do the crown at my current house also.

I just got of the phone with the stove shop I purchased it from and yes the adapter is stainless steel....

I just looked that stuff up BCB and that stuff looks great and easy to apply. Good tip, thank you!! I want to replace the other top cap since one is nice and shiny and other is black and rusty so when I do I'll hit it with that stuff.

Does anyone recommend or think it's worth it to put some furnace cement around the stove collar where it connects to the appliance connector? Or really not necessarily?

    I could agree with that.
Also, even tho it’s not much of a distance, I would think wrapping some ceramic fiber blanket around the appliance adapter would be a gooder idea.... the more insulated the better!

I would definitely use some stove cement in your adapter. If it isn't air-tight it will either leak smoke into your house (not as likely) or the draft from the chimney will pull in cold air and maybe cause some creosote build-up (more likely, but not a given).

It is. It brushes on nicely. IDK why the link to the product didn't come up in my response. It's called ChimneyRX

The ceramic blanket around the adapter with 1 or 2 hose clamps would be ok but as far as I am concerned you're wasting your time with stove cement down that close to the stove as it will just get brittle and crack and/or fall off.

After reading the reviews on some of the cement products that seems to be the case about drying out and cracking. But for 12$ bucks, I picked up anyways, I guess it gives me a mental peace of mind.

It will crack, but it won't fall apart unless you pull the insert out and/or move the chimney around a lot. Just flake the loose stuff off and dope it up again before putting the insert back in.
