Dug two more holes for the staircase landing footings. Hole on left took a while as you can see remnants of maple stump in center left

    Only ~550 sq ft
200 of it will be under the future screen porch.

We live outside on the deck from March through October and any nice days in the winter

    Really coming together well!

I like your temp support posts.
I'm going to steal your build and make
some of those for temp scaffold if/when I
get around to painting the house.
    Thanks! for the idea.

...oh, by the way....there are much easier ways to get fire
wood than digging up stumps. :hair:

    …...just say'n.

I wouldn’t trust standing on them. Obviously these were thrown together in a few minutes from boards off the old deck.

When I painted my house I justified the purchase of a pro grade airless sprayer.
Took me a day to mask everything off less than 5 hrs to paint the whole thing couple hours cleanup and removing masking a couple days later.

Camo fasteners and balusters came in Saturday
Did testing this afternoon. Can only have 3/4” overhang for the screws to catch an outer rim joist and I have to do a little tuning on my picture framing for it to line up right.

960F1EDB-A5AF-47D2-A07B-C802075DB188.jpeg Got the stair landing footings poured yesterday afternoon- good times mixing concrete with a 104 heat index.
Most of the railing posts are set. Used Thrulok connectors- way easier than 1/2” carriage bolts.

    Hopefully some decking starts tomorrow.

    Yes it is (^^^)!
I hadn't checked in here since your hose bibb question. Mighty fine job.
I gotta get down there to AL one day. I had some fool idea that it was all flat land. The pics of your house and iirc some others you've posted show me it's not all flat river delta like I had pictured.

Thanks for the compliments- it’s all about doing right one time.
Weather hasn’t been cooperating thunderstorms Friday and again all morning. Finally broke around 1pm. Got the center picture frame board squared and straight then started running the 8’ section.

The boards next to house are a bit tricky with no clearance for the drill. Have to start them with the camo jig then finish with a ratchet and t-15 bit

    Monday afternoon was a washout.
It was hot this afternoon but got some more laid. The camo fasteners are a bit slower as there is time consumed pulling and spreading boards for gaps but for a fastener free surface I’ll take the trade off.

Look's like with enough "adult beverages" and a good head start you could make it into the pool from your new deck:rofl:  although it looks like the shallow end.
Your on the home stretch now, and after all the heavy lifting I bet your ready for some gentle railing work. The icing on the cake.

I'll like it a whole lot better when the railings are on. I have had too many friends fall off unfinished decks. That is one huge deck. You are going to enjoy it for years to come.

The fastener free surface looks awesome basod! Any chance we could see the camo in action, or see just how it works? Won’t be long now and you’ll be sitting out there with a cold one! :dex:

I haven’t had any company while the build is on going and it is high ~8’ at the end. Railings will be going on as soon as I get decking down.

Thanks for posting the video- I tried yesterday for some reason it didn’t link.

I actually asked if they carried it at my local Ace as that’s where I get all my lumber and they had no idea what I was talking about.
They do carry standard Camo brand screws but not the ones for the decking fasteners.
In between ordering the tool and decking I’ve personally met the owner of My local Ace stores he was impressed with the tool and they are going to start stocking it- pictures of my deck with their KDAT will be in the display.
