Made some progress today cleaning up my log pile; which will be in the way as this whole area will need to be re-graded. The first stack was red and white pine, ended up with 2 face cords from it.

The next log pile is ash, and I ended up adding to it first - I’ve been trying to focus on just cleaning up, but this one didn’t leaf out much this year and it was going to be an easy drop right into my processing area. No sense leaving it and then building a pole barn in the way. So, I made another mess.

I didn’t leave myself much hinge on the one side there, but it still went right where I planned; which was basically where it wanted to go anyway.

But wait, there’s more! I’ve had this Fisher Grandma Bear in my garage for a couple years now - I want to heat the pole barn with it. I got it for free but it was in pretty rough shape. I hired a buddy of mine to do a bit of refurb on it, and he started working on it today.

He also fixed my log arch last week. The tongue used to be held on by a couple 1/2” bolts and I’ve probably sheared 2 dozen of them. Won’t have to worry about that anymore.

Wire wheel on a DeWalt angle grinder. It went a lot faster than I thought it would - he got about 1/2 of the outside done this afternoon.

Broke down the ash tree and gave my repaired log arch a test drive.

Thanks Shawn Curry , the stove before/after is neat, and that tree you dropped got swallowed up by the jungle there. The ticks are just waiting for you to enter. Check yourself good after!

Looking good Shawn and I like the picture with your new splitter and your saw horse together. You even got part of the trailer in there.

I really wanted to stop to see you as I passed south of you twice in the last week. However, I knew you'd be at work. Even so, I though about stopping and extending my trip by a day. Wish I had as it would have been nice to see you again. Now we'll have to wait until fall to meet up again.
