I think I’m going to ask $250. That’s always such a tough question for me to answer! I looked around at some prices but you can’t really find anything quite like this one. I might only have 1 left that’s not already spoken for.
I can only speak for myself, but I enjoyed watching the process very much. Very inspiring. One cannot fault you for commanding top dollar for your work. It's well done, and as you said, a very unique design.
That is beautiful and the price is fair, We have a Boos cutting board that we paid a couple hundred for and it is not nearly as nice looking as yours. I will run this through the wife and see if she likes it as much as I do.
Well seems rainy days have been hard to come by lately. And my schedule has been filling up fast. Time to work at warp speed on these...
^^ x2 You said warp speed, but damm... I think as fast as you were moving, the glue dried by the time you got to the other side of the shop. Thanks for another episode.
They look great Shawn. Do you use anything to fill in the small cracks and voids? Looks like some kind of oil bath to permeate and preserve the wood. Can't wait to see the vid.
Nope, nothing to fill any cracks/voids. They add character. Once it’s all oiled up real good it seals out water quite well. I’d be more worried about the wood putty coming loose later on in the food or something. It’s a mineral oil bath. Food grade mineral oil is a better choice than most food oils which can spoil after a time. I recommend treating it on a schedule like you would for cast iron: one a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year, then at least yearly after that or whenever it seems to need it.
That's kinda what I thought, but figured I'd ask. As far as the food grade mineral oil, that just makes sense also. edit.. See you have on your new Rec-Tec Grill Tee-shirt.. nice.
