so both gates are removable??? that is nice I need to modify the trailer I bought so I can remove the rear gate, would help unload some times.
Yup they come off easy! All you do is pull the gate pins lower the gates a little and slide them off the side of the hinge. It’s a bit hard to do one handed but you get the idea.
It’s cheap that’s how... I turned around and it didn’t even drag the extension just pulled out.. There isn’t even a cord grip or holder in the grinder. I fixed that it’s anchored in redneck fashion now it won’t come out again...
Maybe a couple of 1x1 angles horizontal and split the expanded metal into thirds, rectangles, stop it from bowing down under weight?
Well I decided to go with my old time favorite. Rusty metal primer which is about bullet proof. Top coat Rustoleum enamel with catalizer added. I just don’t see por 15 lasting long with out a ton of work. Rusty metal primer has done exceedingly well on many projects in the past so I’m gonna stick with it. The sand blast official quote came back WAY higher than the originally told me so now it’s getting wire wheeled. The said around $80 but the official quote came in at $200... I’m disappointed at myself for jumping and buying por 15 I’ll probably end up selling it now but o well it is what it is.
It’s not looking like I’ll be done by the gtg so I’ll have to go get my other smaller trailer and drag it along if not. I need to get it anyways so I can get the decking boards for the trailer.
Hmm...you are waaaay more impressed with rusty metal primer than I have ever been...I'll use it, but was never overly impressed with the long term results...
