We don't have water oak around these parts. Just red oak, white oak and burr oak. The bark sure is different on water oak. How is it for firewood? The burr oak have that kind of branches too. They are so dang crooked you can not pull just one, you have to take a bunch!

Also, putting salt on a stump is a new one to me. What is it supposed to do?

I like to do the same with a trailer. Tie a strap or chain to a piece on the bottom in front, then tie it off and pull the truck away. At our local dump they have concrete walls separating areas with rebar hooks for lifting them. I tie off to them and can unload a whole trailer of brush in a few minutes.

Go to a Agricultural store (Tractor Supply Company) get a product called Tordon (red and white bottle). Its good stuff for killing stumps and brush off.

A few Arborist and loggers told me to put salt on it. I know it will kill bushes, I salted the wifes business steps this winter and it killed the bush next to them.

Now that's cool. Never seen this before but I got to have one. Looks like a good product. I have always hand sharpened my own chains and have a lot of guides and depth gauges but never have seen this one before. looks like it works great got a have it. Where can I buy one?

I have the Stihl version - 2n1. The Pfred is a CS-x. Odds are Pfred makes them for Stihl. They both sell for around $40. They are very simple & easy to use filing both the cutter & the raker at the same time. I really like mine.

One down side is you have to have a different one for each size of chain. (3/8", .325, .404)

The Stihl 2n1 uses a 13/64" file for the 3/8" chain. I don't know if the Pfred version does the same or if they use a 7/32" file. Can anyone enlighten me?

The one I have is 7/32, They have one for each size you can order. I use mostly 7/32 on newer chain and move to 13/64 as the chain gets wore a bit. I thought I could just replace the files in it but you can't. the holes are made for that size file.
