Assuming things are according to the manual and that the controller is good or not being lied to.

Back of machine, indicating (if nothing else) it’s country of origin-

So what you're saying is that it was a brand new stove, correct?

It may have been set too low and not pushing as much air as it should have. Depends on the controller in the machine. Some of them allow improper operation.

Have you contacted the dealer? It's under warranty still?

At or around the 3 hour mark of running yesterday, I shot the IR gun at the outlet near top front of stove were the bulk of room air blows out, it was in the neighborhood of
300°-350° F.... Too hot? (mind you, I had it on "Level 1-low heat" and about 1/2 open at the air inlet @ OAK connection...

I don't think that your oak should be restricted by anything but what the controller sends to the combustion blower as pushing heat up the chimney is a major means of keeping things under control. I haven't done any setups in years so what does the manual say to do?

Manual says to adjust air damper according to fuel setting. On low fire, damper is supposed to be completely closed or not more than 1/4" open, then as fuel intake is increased, open air more, etc, etc.

I'm very curious, like the professor in the game Clue. I don't have a damper that I know of except for a backdraft. I'm sorry this stove has issues straight out of the box, bummer!, but I know between you and the Mrs. and the great people here on FHC you'll be up and running soon. I'm curious though, what if she likes the pellet stove better than your wood stove?

I'd test the air temp coming from my stove but I don't know where the IR is at, sorry. It's pretty hot though.

No, I'm assuming nothing is close to correct. Ashley's are not known for greatness or correctness. It will take some time and I noticed that E1's can be caused by power issues which is not a good thing. I also am not a fan of damper fiddling ask JT about his Breakwell Big E.

I don't know where my infrared gun is at. Hey, I have a FLIR, does that take temps?
