They make getting into the fines box simple in their video. At about seven minutes into this:

Even though that video is supposed to be for the insert version, I wonder if they substituted the non-insert version footage or something, because there's no way ours look like that.

Here's another video, but this one is for the P35. Looks like they used the exact same footage for both:

Thanks. I think this is the start of my third year, and it's doing pretty well. Cost a lot (especially with the porcelain finish option), but the wife is happy.

Oh yeah. I have looked at all those videos and think I have read almost every article including Harman's own. There is very little I suspect because they don't want the average Joe to work on it. I believe they want to encourage professional cleaning... much the same way these new cars work.

yea, not all that bad....you DONT need to remove those screws unless you are replacing the combustion fan. But, yea, a bit of a pain when you have to do that. Much easier to disconnect the wires, pull out the stove, and lie it down on its face.....

So I bought a nice rail kit and got ripped off. Very unlikely I am going to remove the stove and flip it over. So i think the best plan here is to call in my wife and have her use her smaller hands and remove the plate. If not, have you ever removed the combustion motor from the side like I am suggesting? I think MAYBE it could be done with patience and struggle. Might even be able to put it back too. :)

Without moving the motor out of the way, it could be tricky getting the vacuum in there.

Thanks! Not to worry though. They are just barely snug. Just tight enough to keep the casting from rocking on the uneven brick surface.

We considered it but opted to stick with the black. Any advice and/or experience you can pass on? I know in another 2 burning seasons my stove will have pretty much paid for itself.

BINGO!! Exactly what I was thinking. It looks like something that anyone handy with tools can make. If you are not handy, find someone who is and pay them 50 bucks in labor.

A metal fabricator could probably make this for you as well.
