My 8yo son was looking over my shoulder when I scrolled to fordguys picture and seen the text "I'm still learning". He says "that's pretty obvious". Kids gotta love em. :D

Criss cross applesauce is how they teach kids to sit cross legged today. It's good for sitting, bad for loading the stove. ;)

Trying something different.... been building up a lot of coals the last few days... so instead of putting the big blocks on the side... I put the big block in front of the dog house.... see how that response...

Is that just an optical illusion of the picture or is the metal warped by the latch cut out?

Yeah it sure appears as though you overchooched one too many times and your reactor had a meltdown.

Beech and honey locust. IMG_20171227_235358390.jpg stuffed.

    Ugg flash didn't go off.

Here's the pic before, I stuffed a 3" diameter beech log in the upper left. That did it. IMG_20171227_235336041.jpg

It's tougher to do if you have a heavy load of hot coals. Which, coincidentally is when we load our stoves so full to combat the bitter cold. I have to wear my grilling gloves to load on a hot bed of coals, whereas if it's not so cold out, you can let the stove burn the coals down longer and it's not so hot.
