Yep. I'd try it over at 50. Make a perfect round on the wheel, and don't sharpen with the side of the wheel. And compare the 2 and see what you think

That'll make more hook hopefully. Especially now that I know what the wheel needs to look like.

Thank you both dall and huskihl

Your cutter should look like a ( instead of a C. Hope that helps

On semi chisel, I've had to go sharper or deeper to get any hook at all. Or lower rakers to get it to cut on its own

That's been my experience pre grinder.
Dremel the rakers down and it'll feed.

Grabby is ok by me. I don't know better.

This post made by a dumbass and not endorsed by anybody. :)

Have you tried grinding one with a little tilt? I know they don't call for it but I think it helps it feed.

I'd imagine it would help. Sharper feeds better.

One thing about grabby chains...touch sand and they aren't any more. Much faster than going the other way around lol

The 10 degree down angle? Now I gotta run 4 different chains in a test?

chit. This is just like hand loading. Gonna cost me lots of time to turn out quality.

Finally got the garage warmed up. Fixing to make some more metal shavings in a minute. Stay tuned for more pics and stupid questions.

Good way to figure out angles is take a new chain out of the box. Throw it on the grinder and set the angles by fitment . Doing this with the grinder shut OFF of course .

    50* tilt
    35* angle

Depth stop set more shallow to use just the curved part of wheel.
