Schnitzelholz. Dieselholz. Why is it Brennholz, not Feuerholz? The large round in the first pic looks like popple...that is what my grandpa called it anyway.
You fellas are hard to come by arent you. Poplar is right - this round goes to yooperdave as he went more specific: Its Aspen (Populus tremula)! To the rest, thanks for taking part! Next sunday everyone will have the chance to hit a homerun. Its gettin domestic - Murrica hell yeah! Info: For further rounds ill gonna add a note "Non Domestic" if it cant be found in North America.

I've had that 1st wood in my racks before but dammed if I knew what it was. Schiesse. Second is clearly 'hidethepickleholz'.
Awritey, thanks everybody for participating! Quiz 1# The 1 Point goes out to Ikeholt damm right Sir! Its Robinia pseudoacacia or better known around your end of the world as Black Locust. One of my favorite if it comes to firewood and also great for fence poles, according to my old man Quiz 2# Actually i wanted to hear you sayin Christmas Tree but everyone came up with something related - also very funny stuff... every one gets a point. Because you all got it right! Thanks again and i hope you and yours had a merry christmas!
Leaderboard 1. yooperdave / Ikeholt 2 points 2. Marshel54 / Horkn / The Wood Wolverine FatBoy85 / Suburban wood snob 1 point 3. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Black Locust? Wow that is completely different from the Locust that I am used to. Even the wood grain is different from the locust I have sitting waiting to go in the stove.
Same here. Granted, we're pretty much down the road from each other. I don't have any black locust on my property, but the neighbor's do, and looks different.
As far as i know you got 3 different kinds of locust overthere. Black, Honey and Water Locust. Black Locust (Robinie/Robinia pseudoacacia) aint native overhere its introduced from the US and A. So i didnt think much of a difference there, as the time beeing introduced aint to long. I feel a bit like a dumbass, i knew it would get a little difficult. But this doesnt seem to be worth the trouble right now. Another Option would be the Winner from last round comes up with the new quiz for next sunday.
No, it's fun as it is. As long as you want to keep doing the quiz at least. We're not a bunch of snowflakes.
