Wj69 is the carb on those saws. I think there is a few of them, different models but it is on the saw. The 650/660 have it for sure. I have one on the 650. I am positive of that because when I rebuilt it from the box of parts after i got it from being crushed I had a slight issue with the wj69 and had to fix it. Not a kit, but a fuel inlet was broken.

Most every 661 that I've had go past me that had problems needed the wiring harness either soldered or replaced with a new one.

I actually had a couple of multimeters hooked up with clips a while back, trying to learn how to trick out the M-tronics with a regular carb.
In 2 minutes without doing anything but touching the harness, the reading on the meter changed a few times. Once soldered, it was rock steady

Again a process that would add $0.50 to the final product and stop several problems but it was not done. I'm sure the robot could have been sent up with heat and solder and it all been done with the crimp:picard:

Well I used the 661 on Saturday and.....

It starts!:dancer:....well most of the time anyway.:picard: Now the problem appears to be flooding. About every 5th. start she won't fire and you can smell fuel, not something you could smell before.

A couple of fellow hoarders from this site, who are 50 pounds heaver and a whole lot meaner than me, pegged the throttle and drop started it and got her to light off on the second or third pull.

I though the intake boot had been replaced, but a review of the service records tell a different story. So she's at the shop again this morning with instructions to replace the intake boot.

In any event, it's better than it was and I'm betting the boot fixes it.

    And so it goes....

Or one of these.:D Mating a coil and flywheel from 1122 is a bit of work but nets a completely adjustable/unlimited 661. IMG_2677.JPG

Is the flywheel a direct swap?

No. I used a poly flywheel and had to surface the rear circumfrence to clear the case.

Yes he does I have personally run some of the ones that he built! Redfin helped me put a tunable WJ-69 carb on my 661 at the GTG this weekend and so far so good, it runs excellent! Think about it Ralphie Boy !
