China will built to whatever you spec out, and are willing to pay for...look at your phone, and computers...all made in china...pretty high tech...and pretty reliable anymore for the most part anyways

Oh, I'm too young to remember that, but I know all about it.

The same thing was said about Korean cars in the 80's. It was actually true at y that time though. Now however, Hyundai and Kia cars are better quality than Honda. Since Hyundai/ /Kia hired some great auto designers, like Peter Schreyer ( styled many great Audi cars when he worked for Volkswagen Audi group), the cats look great too.

    5'19" = 6 foot 7 inches. Those shorter ones at 5' 14" are only 6'2". ;)

Typically either Chinese or Korean. But, yes, that's the point. They build to spec.

We will see. The Chinese stuff has improved a bit but their manufacturing background and philosophy is very different from that of Japan or even the South Koreans.... (and I wonder what those two have in common?.........)

Plenty of companies are utilizing Chinese labor availability and leveraging the lower cost of manufacturing in China while cranking out items that we would consider very high quality. But there are just as many if not more copycat companies (which seem to spring up and disappear overnight) looking to sell a cheap, somewhat disposable product to a hungry market.

I bought one of the 58cc versions of this saw this spring it is well built overall.
but the on/off and choke lever are flimsy but still working mine had the stupid start assist.
I ran a couple of gallons through it dropping and blocking dead ash.
I muff modded it and mildly ported it.
It runs very well about 257 husky power but lighter.
My friend tried it and wouldn't stop pestering me until i sold it to him he uses it all the time for firewood.
It was 79.04 shipped this spring over 100.00 now.
But still good saw's for the money this same chassis is in the new craftsman and remington and blue max and other saw's with different plastic's.
    Not pro level but the everyday firewooders i know like theirs. 20170131_152738.jpg 1486247759570-1535939894.jpg 20170202_165649.jpg 20170202_165744.jpg 20170208_163130.jpg product-chain-saw-RM4214-detail-1.jpg 20170129_141925.jpg

A redesign of the Earthquake saws I got. Paid like $35 for them 4 years ago or so. I have that same muffler. Did a little mod on it. Mine had a single exhaust port on ot but I bought that Dual port muffler. Cool sound. And it's pretty mean for a cheap 45cc saw. It does not ha e the torque of my old stihl 011 but I like it.

I understand what the muff mod is; to reduce the exhaust restriction. However, what does ported mean?

In laymen terms it is removing metal at some place In the cylinder, usually transfer ports and or intake and exhaust ports or some combination of all the above to make it flow more fuel and exhaust. Sometimes reducing piston to cylinder clearance by machine work to achieve higher comoression. Sometimes original port designs maybe filled and reshaped to a builders preferred proven design. This with carb work and coil or timing work the saw will turn higher RPM'S and produce drastically more power.

But I am sure I left a few things out as I am no expert on this stuff.

I just simply made the exhaust port wider.
And removed the baffle it was very restricting.
It allowed it to breath better lol
After retuning it felt like a different saw with more torque.
I might get another one to carry on my atv .

Right now i carry a china/husky 365/372 with a mahle cylinder and a 268 piston really like this saw.
I've dropped 30-40 tree's this summer but i need something smaller and easy to handle on trails.
    I've got mostly 70cc and up saw's. 20170522_162852.jpg

So did you just put a husky sticker on it? Nice saw! Nice quad as they say up north. Or 4wheeler as we say in the south.

    I had a lot of 371/372 part's and over 20 husky bars.
From all the years I've been fixing saw's or picking up basket cases.
I couldn't find a good builder 371/372 this spring so i bought 2 of the china 365s and went through them they were cheaper than trashed saw's around here.
Ported 372 cylinders 268 piston in 1 big bore in the other bailey's oem wraps 20170313_152514.jpg .
"Poleman" rich built me a twin jet zama for the saw that has the 1 on it.
I haven't used the second one yet still on the first one lol
I like these saw's around 300.00 in each one instead of oem prices.
I'm just a firewooder now they are perfect for what i do. 20170217_151517.jpg 20170606_203227.jpg
