Sure hope everyone is on the mend. Maybe your wood guy that dropped off the load would buck the maple and split it with ya? Could be a win-win, with you supplying the tree and him the labor and possibly a bigger saw...
Great big tree Ray, but new VOLKEVIN on the board has touched on a good idea...if not your wood guy, is there anyone that could assist you? My IS heats my home?
Another good idea I just don't like to impose on people.. I would be happy if a fellow wood burner needed it and took it.. If my son were up to it he would have been helping but it is what it is.. Not that important really.. On a bright note I will be smoking ribs with pecan & cherry this weekend Of course this will require beer
My buddy is having a cookout this weekend. I'll be smoking a pork butt for him, hickory and apple. I'll also have a 2nd butt in there to keep for myself . Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
I cut this large Norway maple up a few years ago. Lots of sledge and wedge and a bit of noodling. It was a bit of work, but it got done. Relax and have a few cold ones this weekend.
I have a Stihl 025 with 16" bar and no splitter. It was my yard tree, so I just pecked away at it on my free time.
I was afraid that big maple might end up being that kind of job. Glad you stopped by, if you ever need a bigger saw to slice up those big trees, you saw how big I can handle.
