Not bad for my first venture. Think I baked it a bit too long. Used a cheaper mozzarella, better cheese and a little more might be better. It's a work in progress. Has taken me many years to make a Neapolitan pie that I'm happy with. I'm sure I'll be going down the same road with this style pie. One problem though, besides Naples I've been to all the best pizza joints in NYC, New Haven and lots of other places throughout the states. I've eaten all the best and have something to compare to and try to replicate. I've never been to Chicago though, I'm feeling road trip in my future!

Wow I think it looks like it turned out great! Love how the crust looks crispy. We tried a deep dish once and the dough got soggy on us. Looks great to me!

Quick and easy tonight. A pair of New York strips and a TBone on the Kamado.

Looks good to me. How about a couple pictures of your oven and maybe some info on it? Building process, materials, likes/dislikes, what would you do differently? Thanks.

Thanks. It's not that hard to make. You should try again, it was pretty tasty! This is a good thread on deep dish, all 400 pages of it. I used recipe on the very first page by the OP. Do you have a pan/pans?

Thanks. I see some plans sitting there in one picture, did you draw them up or get them from somewhere else? What kind of mortar did you use? Did you use a form to make the dome or just slow going? Ive been wanting to build one for some time now but my masonry skills are limited. Would probably be a pretty good project to learn on though, not like I'm building a house. If you don't mind me asking what was the approximate cost? How long have you had it and how has it held up out in the elements? Sorry for all the questions, it's just you relit the flame of a idea I've had for a while.

I did have plans but change some stuff that I didn't like. Can send them to you. Cost I had in it was around 200 but I only bought the fire brick and mortar supply's. my buddy works for a mason company so the block and brick were free just went and rooted through there junk my treasure pile haha. My mortar mix was 3 sand 1 fire clay 1 Portland 1 lime. The dome I mad.
