Two questions. How well does that chain cut? Looks like some goofy angles going on there. And did you swap the intake clamp? I can't tell in the pics.
Yea you would be really mad if it was an 1127 series Stihl and you buttoned it all up and had to go back into it like this.
I will grab a pic of the sealant when I take the head off today. This chain has also got to be replaced. The teeth are no where near a uniform angle. Looks like the when. The guys had it before me they just did some rushed file jobs to get back cutting in a hurry. I may be able to fix the teeth but not sure. I haven't gotten the intake clamp yet but that is on my to do list. I'm glad it is fairly easy to work on also. It is not a bad job tearing down and building back up T2 Tappin'
So when I spin the piston around the ring ends will be facing toward the intake port. That's correct right? T2 Tappin'
Ring ENDS should not be facing ANY port!!! The arrow points foward or toward the muffler/exhaust side. There should be a locating down or pin in each ring Grove that the ring ends should end at. If there is no pin there turn the rings toward the side so that there not near any port.
Does the worm gear go under or above this plate? I'm second guessing myself now and just want to make sure T2 Tappin'
Thank you guys for the info. Just got it spin around and there is a pin that the ring ends sit in. I may have been buying another to end if it wasn't for y'all. T2 Tappin'
The muffler gasket goes against the cylinder head right? It doesn't go in front of the heat shield I don't believe just wanted to double check. Second guessing a lot and just want to make sure everything in the assembly goes right T2 Tappin'
Yep so when rings against that pin arrow pointed foward or to exhaust they will be loacated in the correct location.
The pin is on the opposite side that the arrow is on. What are your thoughts on the worm gear and the muffler gasket? T2 Tappin'
Gasket goes against the head i am pretty sure. Only makes sense as the shield would not seal well.worm gear i am not sure. All id do is grab the IPL and look
That makes more sense, I was second guessing. Heat shield on first to protect the body and everything from heat. Thanks bullit
Thank you guys/gals. I got her back together and right this time thanks to the help from y'all Kinda stupid question here probably but what if you ran an exhaust gasket on either side of the heat shield? Just to ensure proper seal for the gases to exit the muffler? T2 Tappin'
