Honestly anywhere can be breached. Our higjest government agancues are hacked sometimes so it happens to everyone. A good CC company us on too of it and your not liable for it
Why does everyone use the cylinder with the compression release hole then most of the time it gets plugged?

You don't really need a compression release till your in 80+cc territory. Well that also depends on your age and strength I guess.
Re: building a 345 on a Poulan Strato chassis... Yes, possibly. The bottom end config of metal clamshell pan vs chassis formed clamshell doesn't matter if bolt holes line up. But other factors to consider...are crankshaft and con rod the same? And intake parts and muffler will be different. And if flywheel fits, will timing work? Will clutch and sprocket fit? If you have to change many of these parts, it's financial folly. I'll just have to leave 5x Poulan chassis in the parts bin. Maybe the Chinese will make a strato Poulan topend for cheap at some point. Even tho the Poulan is a competent 42cc saw, it has a bad rep and only fetches $65 in great running condition. You need the name Husqvarna or Stihl when selling used.
Some of the newer ones do have spring AV from top cyl to handlebar and bottom of handlebar to chassis but it isn't great. Now, most of the 1990-2005 Poulans have no AV. You'd be a jiggling if trying to buck 16" logs all day. I think of these saws as limbers - WOT for 10", idle, WOT 10", idle, etc. No biggie in that use.
That's about what I use my cheap china saws (earthquake ) for, but their Antivibe is amazing compared to poulan. First time I really used a Poulan after having better saws I could even feel vibrations when cutting small branches! Haha
Hey y'all sorry about the long delay in posts. I've been slammed at work. Good news on the rebuild though. The mechanic checked out the saw and said everything was in working order for another top end. While I was at the shop I checked prices and for an OEM 345 C&P I got got a quote for $89 plus tax. It's not the 346xp top end but I couldn't pass up the $89 deal. It is on its way and they will be calling me as soon as it comes in. I'm looking forward to this build. -Rick T2 Tappin'

Thanks, for updating. At $89 for the cylinder you will have a cheap good running saw. I think if you hang around this forum much you will regret going with the 345 cylinder. You can get that kit on ebay for $150 that basically turns it into a 346 which whill perform way better. It is really worth the extra money. The will probably also have a better resale value with a 346 cylinder on it, at least to someone like me. I would see if you can cancel the order and get a 346 cylinder on the way, tell the dealer you changed your mind.
