Yes. It's important to keep them clean! No doubt! I definitely push the limits of my pellet furnace but it self cleans the pot every 10 hours. Going 2 months plus and seeing very little decrease in performance I do tend to go longer than most. But I've ran it for 5 seasons and I am very in-tune with it. I recommend that everyone clean the stove as often as possible (at least weekly till you get a feel) and the venting every ton (until you know how much and how long you can go). I go a full season without cleaning my flue and it's still just a nice light coating in the vertical and about a 1/4" in the bottom of the horizontal (4ft). And even its a nice grey color. No black or soot :)

But being a NEWB once it's always best to clean and be safe.

I just got ECsaws to buy a Quad Classic Bay yesterday! It was on CL for $950 and that's a deal for a stove that retails for over $3,200!!

Here it is running after he got it home!!

His dealer told him everything is fine, and stop listening to those guys on-line because they don't know what they're talking about.

well I think we gave him s pretty clear picture of how bad an install that was. Hopefully he has been in contact with dealer and installer to get things corrected. Maybe it's just slow going with the fix and we'll hear from him yet.
