Badbob, they used 3 different controllers on my model,2 convection air setups, at least two burn pot arrangements, changed the combustion impeller, ground wiring issues, over temp shutdowns due to sensor placement, controllers sometimes mis jumper ed, and fouled up auger covering. And you wonder why, this is but what I am aware of or experienced.

I have an idea if you want to hear it Don, no upper row of holes in fact no overhead airflow with the new burn pot.

I'm not aware that the bugs were ever worked out. I am aware of one that hits because they don't wait quite long enough to ramp the convection blower down going from 3 or higher burn rate to maintenance burn. Haven't seen a controller upgrade for that. Work around is to override the autofollow on the convection fan or use a higher flow rate convection fan (that be this critters solution) 230 CFM instead of 160 CFM.

Same issue with my beast, But its healthy heat exchanged dissipates the extra and the convection blower(even the 200 CFM) is far enough away that it isn't effected. Exhaust gets a whee bit hot, But hasn't hurt it(knock on wood!)......

JT they mucked around and snorkeled their 160 CFM unit still issues. I said sh*t and tried a flat out convection fan setting. That worked until that fan got loaded with dirt or ran outta lube. Too use the fan on auto I had to up the flow I found a surplus pull and reworked the mounting.

Surplus unit cost me $49.95 from The Surplus Center. Now if this critter gets his hind end in gear with the full Monty cleaning I won't run into things like last nights issue.

After working on IHP's burnpot. IMHO that material is crap! Cruddiest cold rolled I have ever worked with. Reminded me of pig iron........

I'd say its a good thing the newer units are Sherwood's. Be nice if they could get them to remanufacture the OEM pots or some sort of update kit to use an existing Enviro. But then again, The stoves are discontinued, So I doubt they bother. Maybe if you all squawk at em long/hard enough, They will change material spec's!!

I said in the email I sent him with serial # something about cheeping out on the burn pot metal and lack of the upper row of holes.

ETA Don will have both pots headed to him.

I am afraid mine would over temp if I let the machine change fan settings on its own accord. Big difference in heat between settings 4 or 5 and 1. O always run mine full bore. Dont want any over heat situations and dont like the way it sounds on low. My englander will go from no blower,to setting to high depending on detected heat. My guess is there is a thermocouple detecting the temp of the exhaust and it adjust as needed. Seems simple enough.

To IHP and Steve I'm used to dealing with messes done so for all 66 years of my life. So I am prone to just call'em and I don't care about hurting any feelings. I would have hoped the folks that QA devices that run fires would at least have a f*cking clue.
