Just shot them an email regarding delivery...if we can work something out then I'm a new customer...the neighbor & I grab 10 ton per year...so hopefully that helps with the delivery challenge...

    I had some Douglas Fir.
I used the Platinums mostly, used some LaCrete when they were gone...
    All good!

I noticed with Doug firs, [blazers/okanagan firs] that I had lot of partial burned pellets when I ran room auto with my Harman.. the on/off routine via thermostat..
they burned much much better when the stove had a good long 24/7 burn... prob because the pellets are so dense they need a good steady burning..

^^ Same here Tully & agree - the Olympus DF pellets really cranked out the heat w/ a good hot steady burn ..

They liked a little more air ( 30-50 RPM faster avg. on the combustion blower ) vs. the LG Granules, ( Spruce/Pine mix pellet ) at a given feed rate, on the small stove here.

One of these days I'll hit the Lottery, only buy DF pellets & not have to worry about cleaning the stove every day here.. Or relocate to a tropical non-extradition country. :D

Although I havnt used McManus, I have never heard anything but good things about them. A did have a run in with McManus about 5 years ago-I was driving through Rochester and saw a pellet delivery of Okies by someone going out of his way to bring the pallets from the street and around the back of the house. I stopped to talk with the mans and sure eniugh it was McManus.

This year I have plenty of cold weather pellets left from last year and only need to add a few ton of buffer just in case.

I am going to give Crabbe a try @ 244/ton for softies. My pellet guy is saying that they were a hit for him last year. Not quite the heat of LaCrete but still good heat, burn clean and will be fine for much of the winter while being cheaper than the good stuff. If Corinth hadnt jumped up into the 260 range, I would have likely grabbed more of those.

I'm definitely wondering how things are going to shape up this Fall . The forest fires also make me wonder how that impacts the pellet industry but I do feel with overall fuel prices low we should be in great shape . Olympus , LaCrete, Vanderhoof Platinum : )

Well...McManus is out...says he's a one man show and wont deliver to me...I may have another option...East Coast Lumber in much closer and they are selling Oakie's Plats for $285/ton with possible free shipping...Are they a decent pellet???

    Thx

Speaking of NEWP - on my way to work last night I saw a flat bed tractor trailer full of NEWP pallets traveling down NH 202. They looked like they were last year's pellets as the plastic coverings were fairly torn up around the bottoms. My guess is they were headed to Agway or maybe Aubuchon. My advice is if you absolutely must get NEWPS, you don't want to buy their first offerings.

Its been a while since I have used Okies and I dont remember if there are dates on the bags or not. Maybe someone (jtakeman ) can chime in in this.
