Its been asked for a few times, but I finally wrote a log-cord calculator. You can find it at the bttom of the firewood calculator page. It is in beta and will get more features. Let me know how it works. Firewood & Cord Calcuations | Firewood Hoarders Club
I think it needs to be converted to inches. At least the diameter, if it's possible to write it with two measurements.
Does it estimate the "stacked" cords (which is preferable), or does it calculate the actual cubic feet of wood (which would under-estimate the stacked cords)? Thanks for the tool!
For estimation of stacked cordage I just consider a log to be square which adds in the air space and come out pretty close. Instead of pi*r squared I do 2*d times the length. Lost to sawdust has some significance, especially if you make noodles. Think of it as a sales tax.
Not to be confused with "which bathroom one may choose these days" papadave Great work Grizzly Adam Always something new on the site!
It comes up with the same numbers the other wood calculator site I used to go to did. Past tense on that old site as this one works great, and we'll keep the hits here at FHC. Thanks Griz!
