Seal looks a little deep in flywheel side. The clutch side when you assemble the oiler and sleeve you'll know if it's too high still.

    Nice chain brake!!!

You want a wet exhaust but you don't want like wet and drooling allover like a leaky oil tank or anything.

Use the right oil and hopefully that changes. Cause even my saws mixed at 32:1 and tuned a tad rich I don't have what I would call real oily exhaust. Damp and specks sometimes but not slobbering or oozing oil or anything.

Thank you fur your input Clem...yah no bar break...I don't run a bar brake when I'm chaisin...with a skidder and a graple cat trying to bury you...I don't have time to reset the break every few minutes...lol...it don't look limmy...but it was.lol...any who...the saw is slobberin...actually both rebuilds are...but I only pulled the muffler off the last rebuild and noticed it..it was kinda slick...I notice as well with the first rebuild that there was a little slobber in front of the muffle mod...but didn't pay no notice to it...till you said something about it Clem..the second rebuild I did split the case...the first rebuild I didn't...but I only pulled the muffler off the second rebuild... I'll start the second rebuild tomorrow and check it again...I would start the first rebuild...but I had to steal the carb...handle bars and fuel tank to get the second rebuild goin...lol...it sucks bein parts poor...that's on the back burner fur now...I started another project... Got my bosses husky 61...he wants me to run through it...pulled the cylinder... Opened up the exhaust and intake...did a muffler mod...still have to kit the carb..the bore and piston are scored pretty good...I'm tryin to salvage them...the saw did run last spring...but the muffler screen was plugged pretty tight...I replace it and it ran good after that...I couldn't get all the hard coatin off and I didn't take that much out of the intake and exhaust... Just mainly a clean up job and practice...I have 2 L 65s I want to do next winter... Look at the crap in that saw!! You guys really need to buy some quality oil. And maybe put some seafoam at a high rate into your mix to help clean up and keep some of those deposits from forming.

Don't hog that out. It will make the flow lazy and probably lose power.

Set mufflers is probably tuned too rich. A ported 372 will usually turn 14.5k or real close and still be plenty rich unless milling.

Thank you fur your input Clem...good mornin to you...lol...I understand about the mix....as I stated... This is my bosses saw...I have no control of what he runs through it...this is an old 61 and far as I can tell...it has never had the jug off of it...who knows what has gone thru it...I found one can of sea foam out of 4 towns in my area and it was 15.00...wanted to get it...but didn't have the funds...it blows Clem...I hate bein poor....all I am tryin to do is learn...not get ripped because some one else is usin the wrong mix...I have the out board mix in my rebuilds right now...I know it's the wrong mix...so I am not runnin them right now...I would love to take them out and tune them and cut some wood.... IMG_20160215_090638.jpg as you can see in the back ground...I love to cut wood...so my saws are down...hopefully when my season starts I will be able to afoard a better mix...to keep my saws Healthier...know what I mean Clem...thank you...

Milling would be using the saw on an Alaskan mill. If they're tuned too rich you'll get wet mufflers or lots of carbon.

You can buy seafoam on amazon for way less than that. I think it's like $8-9 on amazon. You can get it at walmart for about that and there is a knock off STP I think it is for like $6 at walmart. But on sale you can get seafoam for $7-8 at the big auto chains like advance.

The oil from Walmart is good too and not much more than the oil you have. The super tec air cooled 2 stroke or Poulan if they have it like Mike said.

Yea it sounds rough . I hate that funds are that tight for you right now.

Thank you fur your input Clem and good mornin...yah it blows...hopefully some work comes along...or my season starts....next time my wife and me go to walmart i will check it out...we only make it to are local walmart every couple of months...its a 100 miles round trip...so any who... I put the 61 together and tuned it...it sounds pretty good and it runs...fur how long I don't know...lol...I tuned it to a 32 in. Bar...it pulls it good...on the jump...when you first pull the trigger...it don't bog...but it dose take a sec to run up...I turned the Hi way in and it screams...but I turned it back down...because I am usein the inboard mix and I used all the old parts...I cleaned up the intake and exhaust, did some work on the boar...removed the transfers the best I could...same thing with the piston...the piston was in bad shape...lol..still is but not as bad...the piston had a big bur on the top on the exhaust side and lots of carbon...I ground the bur off and removed the carbon... IMG_20160223_141340.jpg IMG_20160223_143651.jpg I cleaned the ring up a little... I kitted the carb...what are thease little plugs fur that came with the kit... IMG_20160223_132119.jpg I put a new air filter on...
Hear is the bore before clean up... after.... IMG_20160221_165507.jpg IMG_20160223_123223.jpg It's not the best...but better than it was...after I did the clean up and pulled on it to start it...it has very low compression... Do you think the ring will seat and gain compression... Or do you think it's just wore out...it is runnin and starts every time...thank you...

I bet the 61 needs a ring why compression is low. Plus just wear. That top plug is for pulling out to gain access to a passage. And that is to replace it. You put it in and hit it with a punch to seat it. Yours may not have the plug.

The bottom two are needles. You should of replaced it in the rebuild. It's under the metering diaphram. Take the screw out the shaft and little metal fork will come up with the spring behind it. And ThE fork arm thing lifts and controls the inlet needle.

Thank you fur the input Clem...yah I know about the needle and fork...I have kitted quite a few carbs...but I didn't know about the plug...what is the passage behind the plug fur...yah the ring and wear don't help...do you think it will seat any at all...thank you....

If it's still got tension pressing against the cylinder I don't see why it wont?

The passages behind the plug are just passage ways to some effect, fuel or air. It all depends on the carb I guess
