Thank fur your input Redfin and Clem...ok...thank you...I'm past that fur now...new question... When puttin your seals in...you put then first...then crank and bearins? When I did my 268 last year...I put my seals in first..then crank and berins. But I had heat the case to get the bearings to go in. I was nerves about gettin the seal to hot. I know it's possible... Is the the right to do this...and when I put the bearings on the crank...I heated the bearings and froze the crank...the bearings are suppose to slide right next to the crank right...that's where I made them sit when I put them on my 268..…thank you... Oh and how long do you leave the bearins in the oven...the video I watched was never clear about that...all I got of it was you have to set your oven at 150...my oven only gose down to 170...when I did my 268...I don't think I wait long enough..the bearins got hung up...thank you... I heat the case halved at 325 and drop the bearings in the case first. Then heat the bearings with a heat gun and I can push the crank in by hand sometimes all the way to seated if I'm quick enough.

Thank you fur your input md...on my next one...I will try that method...I did get the bearins in and the case closed up and one seal in...on the drive side...the seal went in real easy...it should have went in tight right?....on my 268...it seems like both seals went in tight...dose this mean the case is wore on the drive side now...thank you...

I don't know anything really but I would think the seal needs to be pushed in fairly snug? If not wouldn't you get air leaks?

If the seal didn't go in by hand you should be fine. It will seal on the sleeve that goes on the crank there.

That seal only seats close to the top. If you drive it too far it will be loose.

It happens. I did the same thing once. I threw all the seals in one bag.
