My Stove Arrived!

Well you can always upgrade later right? Hopefully you'll be happy with your stove, but don't dismiss that you'll never have the one you want. You never know when you might happen across a deal. I have a nice lookin' green porcelain enameled cast iron stove that is barely used that I'll be getting rid of at some point (it is just taking up space in my living room in the corner). Not a single scratch on it I do believe, except for what was on it when new. Probably sell it for less than half. Still, more than your stove, but just saying good deals to pop up every once in a while.

 

Correction , that 3.2 cu ft Firebox will be more than enough for your 1000 sq ft
Is that correct ? 1000 sq ft , is that what you have ?

 

Correction to "should be".
The 30 "should be" way more stove than I need, but isn't in some situations. Slightly bigger house, although we normally only heat about 900 sq. ft.

I am not sure. There is my little office and another small bedroom but I doubt if the air flow will be able to heat them that well; they are off of a short hall. I have not been heating my bedroom but the door to my bedroom is off of the lounge so the heat flow may help to warm the bedroom. My bathroom is on the other side of my bedroom so I will probably still need the electric radiator in that bathroom.

 

What is IIRC?

 

My house is chopped up , I think you will be surprised how well you can heat the other rooms with small fans ,on the floor in the doorways sucking cold air out and blowing it towards the stove room , the electric the fans use is not that much, and well worth it.

Edit, I have electric heater in the bath room too, for fast heat for my buns when it's chilly in the morn

You never measured the outside of your house ?

 

A woodstove throws off a lot of radiant heat as well, so it heats somewhat through a wall. More than I thought it would.

If and when you have trouble with starting/staying lit/burning/glass sooting up....don't blame the stove or the vent. Your next obstacle is the wood. 3 years makes all the difference. 2 years is good, 3 is what you want. You,ll see.
Stove looks huge! Will the venting still line up with where your thimble is?

 

Yes, I planned for a larger stove; at first it was going to be a smaller stove but I knew I had to plan for future.
