    Gotcha.

re: up and running, I know you know what you're doing, and always lots of help here @ FHC, but if you have any 'Francesca' specific questions you want to bounce, give a shout, I'll try to help.

Hope the install goes smooth for 'ya.

That noise is actually the metal creaking and popping like you get at first start up, but it does it all the time, I sent that video to Ardisam but have not heard anything and I'm 2yrs.out of warranty.

    Hi Rich,

This is from helping a member on the 'other' forum ... Used a thin, empty, stainless steel container, punched the top cap to slip-fit the OAK pipe, cut off the bottom, cut some vertical slits up can so it would compress, and fitted the bottom slits into the aluminum OAK pipe.

Used high-temp aluminum tape to wrap the OAK pipe to the bottom of the can, used the same tape to dress the top opening to fit snugly on the stove.

This way, I can remove the OAK pipe as needed for cleaning.

    Quoted post below:

    --
Stove was running yesterday, couldn't get pics. Here they are:

Pic 1 is the air intake on the back of the stove,
Pic 2 is the slip fitting opening on the adapter pipe,
Pic 3 is a side-by-side of the adapter, and original of the container used,
Pic 4 is a just disconnected shot through the stove back cover,
Pic 5 is the (saved) original box the 2" aluminum flex pipe came in. purchased at Ace Hardware (Hamshaw Lumber, Keene NH).
Pic 6 is a full size of 5 so you can read the info.

    * You should put an OAK on your stove, regardless on whether you route it to outside air, or several feet away from the stove inside the home: the Francesca models use a tangential fan for room air: at higher speeds, the room air fan -will- affect combustion air being pulled into the stove, so even if you don't pull in outside air, add the OAK pipe and route to a room location several feet away from the stove that will not be affected by other air sources ( cold air return / heater ducting, etc. )

Hope the pics help, good luck w/ your install,
    CleanFire

Holy crap Rich, it sounds like a major interior panel, or heat exchange tube has separated in the stove: that 'clicking' noise is the metal expanding / contracting ..
I can see why you wanted to take it out of service.

I still have that extra can here, and I can store the product in another container - if your OAK line is 2" / you want the container, let me know and I'll ship it to you.

My Enerzone did that when it was new... As did my Quad CB 1300..

It should get better. Having never been fired, everything has to find its home. The sheet metal will expand and contract enough, and should stop the "tension" in the panels.

Dexter that was my old stove that i have had for 3 yrs.It just recently started making the noise, It's weird at start up when you would expect the noise it's quiet the longer the stove runs the worse the sound gets, that video was in the morning after the stove had burned through the night.
