How do those forks do pushing snow? Guessing you've got a board or plate against the back?

Got a 3pt. blade on the back. Needed the forks before the snow, didn't need to switch over.

Here is a short vid plowing a section of easier drift, The front tire helps too!

Here are a couple of pictures the BIL sent from Glengary, WV area. He claims 50 inches based on it being 6 inches above a 55 gallon barrel in his yard (what other kind of measurement do you expect from an ole hillbilly :)).

A stack I was pulling from until it gets buried. Now I will pull from the woodshed.

Pushing snow by another rack I will pull maple and hickory from still.

One needs to be thinking about the weight of the snow load. Of course the mass of the snow is going to be determined by the type of snow; if it is a dry snow, mostly ice crystals, then the load will be less than if it is a wet snow. The load will depend on the angle of the surface as well, a horizontal surface has the full normal force of the load; as the surface angle increases, the normal force decreases. Here is a pdf to peruse: http://pajk.arh.noaa.gov/Articles/articles/snowloads.pdf

Is the top of the stack covered? I was wondering that as the stack warms up if you have to think about melting snow dripping down into the stack?

OK, I finally got through all the posts in this thread. I fell asleep while wading through it last night.

I'd rather be wading through posts than drifts, and I love snow.

Some of you have epic amounts of the white stuff.

    Stay safe FHC'ers

Yes, anything I use that is outside this year gets top covered with epdm. Next year's stuff will continue to stay uncovered until early fall, when much goes into the woodshed.

fishingpol, yes, it was buried. What fell and the drifting had it covered. It's clear now so we should be back in business when I reload later.

Below, there is almost a cave being formed from the drift. Really cool looking

For those who may need to clear their roofs off, here is something for perspective. This was in February 2014 when most of MI got hammered with snow. The snow was about 3' on the level, maybe a bit more. This is in the NE lower peninsula, and the previous owner sent us this picture.

It's hard to tell how much is on the roof until it's on the ground. I can only imagine how much weight that was. Lucky for me, I didn't have to do the shoveling.
