Eaton having this stove there is a another scenario I can think of. While It may sound crazy let me see if I can explain. Every once in a while when the agitator is running, I will here the fingers get caught on some pellets in the burn pot pushing the agitator up, and then you will here a crunch as the pellets break and it continues to turn. While this does not happen every cycle, it does happen. I am wondering if something like this could of happened causing excess pressure on the drive mechanism and popping the chain and bending the bracket. I know it sounds far fetched, but at times that agitator takes on a fair amount of pressure. How do you have your stove programmed. Do you have the agitator turning with every revolution of the auger, or is yours running on the premium pellets, where it turns once every 30 minutes?

I run on Premium Pellet mode...It seems possible, just hard to think that the steel would fail before the pellets!! I guess if a pellet(s) somehow got wedged and the auger was pushing against the strong axis anything is possible.

Thanks for your input Brokenwing!

No problem, and I know it seemed far fetched, but I was trying to think of all of the possibilities.

A couple of years ago, when we had the American Harvest insert, the wifey hung the stockings with care....... right over the hopper. Of course someone dropped something in the hopper and in this case it happened to be a piece of cardboard that got jammed in the auger, not the agitator, and it shut the stove down. Could something have fallen into the stove and got past the auger to wedge the agitator and burn pot ? Have you found anything funny or unexplained lately ? Do you even have stockings hung on the fireplace? Guess it don't matter as Smoke, JT and Imac said, smack that sucker back into shape and let it agitate away !!

    Doggy

Shots Fired, I am taking cover  !

In all seriousness while you got that thing taken apart check your wiring harness Eaton. When I first got my stove it was popping a fuse, and the dealer could not figure out why. I started tracing wires, and found the convection fan rubbed the insulation off a wire, and it was shorting out. I had to cut the wire. solder it and then I put heat shrink tubing over it. No problem since then. I went through the whole cabinet with a few zip ties doing a little wire management, because the bozos at the factory must of been dreaming about there next coffee break!

While managing your tie downs, being more liberal with the lubricant can ease your binding issues
