Ouch big time if this is the case. I'm getting worried. I'll be pretty upset as I went over what the install was going to be with Matt before I even dug the hole for the chimney.

I don't think the chimney is the problem because it's a vertical rise, it looks like you should reposition the furnace so it goes up and elbow out into chimney liner.

Since we have the nice weather, buy a case of beer and invite some big boys to bring the stove outside for cleaning and to test fire it. Don't take too long otherwise your drunken big boys will drop you know what.

Could be a bit tired but not sure what you mean. What holes are you referring to? The ones I mentioned to Dex in the previous post? If so, no I didn't block all of them, only the ones he did on his unit, or as close as I could replicate based on his pictures.

HAHA, I was already told I'm on my own to pull the stove out if it ever came to it. Getting it down in the basement was a pain in the azz enough.

So the slight tilt in chimney may be causing problems. Clean the T out and see if ashes have been building up?

Where can I go to see pics of your install?

I'd have liked to do direct vent but my house doesn't allow for it. So hear I am and getting worried.

I use a plywood on the stairs to lower it down slowly with a rope on top to keep it slow.

Just went and pulled the clean out caps. No ash build up. Just black soot coating everything.

I'd try that if it goes back out side. Be easier than the fridge cart we used. What a pain.

Oh yeah. Big time dirty burn. This I knew though. The glass on the one side goes black super quick.

I do plan to tie into my heating ducts. Just not going to do it unless I can get this bad boy running better. Not spending anymore money on it till it earns its keep by heating the house.

Sweet install by the way. Looks really good.

I'm starting to regret putting my stove where I did. I'm concerned the chimney is the reason I'm having issues. I should have put it on the end of the house and done a direct vent. I choose not to do that though as I wanted to tie it into the ducting.

If you can get your hand on a magnehelic gauge, start furnace without a fire and take a reading then remove the clean out cap from the T and take a reading. If a lot of difference, there's your answer! If you can't get a magnehelic gauge, you could build one out of a clear rubber hose shaped into a U with water in the U part. Just mark the water levels before and after.
