I would have too look at mine. But I too think you have to pull the whole handle off the saw, which is not an easy task on those. But I do not remember seeing stihl or mahle cast anywhere thats visible on mine either???

I think he was being a bit facetious. ;) His English is good enough, just not his first language.

That is basically what this guy is saying. I looked at some cylinders on ebay and they have Stihl and Mahle cast in them. I'm thinking I may be able to take a screwdriver and feel the "stihl" cast in the cylinder. If not I guess I'll have go by the looks if the cylinder.

Ok after seeing where it is. I am pretty sure there would be no way to see that with the handle on? Maybe I am wrong? But I have never tried to look for mine as I bought it new and its never been at a shop so no way its been swapped. I have had the saw totally apart though..just didnt look for the castings.

File half the thickness of the key.
On some builds, the key is removed. It's for location, not to hold the flywheel on. clean and dry surfaces only. Taper fit.
A couple raps with the cordless impact sets it better than anything else I've used.
The factory timing advance is quite mild on the 1127 and 1123 series saws. Levi's 025 has been advanced 10 degrees and still no issues.
That little thing puts out as much power as just about anything else in it's size class. Sans a really hot 346 OE.

I've got a 250 I've been wanting to play with with. I'll have to keep the 10* in mind. I think the non pro saws are really detuned and there are some big gains to be made easily.

I would be really curious to know what the port timing #'s are in a 250 as opposed to the old edition 025.

But as the only super power with a real air force, we are still unmatched. We have spent billions on that project though!!

Thank you to all that wear the uniform, my brother in law included!!

You would need to remove the 4 hex screws holding the starter cover and look underneath. If you turn the flywheel so fins are on top you can just see the "Stihl" on the cylinder on mine.

Well, that settles it. Lines have been drawn in the sand. We have the 360 and 440 here to test against it so what the heck! Details to follow!

Might have to try advancing the timing.

Here is my 036. I have a feeling the 039 is going to beat it though. Still need to replace the impulse line then she's ready.
