Put a MAGNUM sticker on it. Adds 2 HP.

I have an 036 that I just replaced the crank seals and rebuilt the carb. I need to replace the impulse line and I will take some videos of the two. Should be interesting.

I did that to my 170. It helped a considerable amount.

Is the timing easy to describe? Do you pull the flywheel and key and just locktite it down? How much do u rotate?

You file the key. You just have to know how much to file. Some saws have a key cast in the flywheel so it is harder to do.

It is hard to say how much advance your getting without using a degree wheel, but I would not go more then about 1/3 the width of the flywheel key. You could start with 1/4 if you want to be cautious.

Post 22 on give a formula so you don't have to use a degree wheel.

    timing advance?

You can also use a timing light and that would tell you your total advance.

Ok still has to break out with the degree wheel. It probably would take more time than I am willing to do but if you wanted to know the total advance of the ignition it would definitely work. Thanks for showing.

Boog I'm thinking about buying a 390. I wanna make sure it has the OEM cylinder but the guy says he can't see Stihl cast on the cylinder. He says you would have to tear then saw apart to see it. Can you easily see the Stihl or Mahle casting on yours?

Ok but why would you do that to a perfectly good saw. What ever.
