Bookmarked, thanks. I still have 3/4 case of super cedars from when wood was our heat source. Wood still is on the super cold days, but the Drolet does most the work :)

I've been meaning to start my stove manually just to understand how or if it feeds the same but I never seem to get to it.

Automatic(auto ignition) propain torch used with map gas for the extra umph!! Works like a charm.

I started the stove as normal, Once the pellets stop dropping for the initial start up cycle. I opened the door and hit the pellets that loaded for about a good minute or so. Too long and the stove controller will fault out for no vacuum. Closed the door and watched for a bit. If it didn't start making decent flames I'd open the door and hit them again JIC. Don't move the torch around hold it in one spot the get them glowing. Then move them to another spot if needed. One good blast usually is enough.

I kept my stove going for a couple of weeks while waiting on parts to arrive. Igniter arrived in days. But the controller too a bit longer to get. Mine lost the relay in the ignition circuit but still ran the stove NP. Just wouldn't power the new igniter/air pump.

I manually lit my stove using the torch method and the hand sanitizer method. The sanitizer method I found to be much easier. I would take a small handful of pellets, put them into a Tupperware container, load it with hand sanitizer (higher alcohol content the better) and shake. Dump them in the pot and light. Once it looked they they took, I would start the stove with the door slightly ajar as to not blow out the weak flame. Soon enough you will see when they really take and you can shut the door completely.

I bought a used stove that is the same make and model to the one in the living room from Craig's list, Paid $250. for it .
Lit it up to make sure it works gave it a good cleaning sprayed it down with oil before we put it in a storage shed.

Isn't much more $$ around here, But makes a big diff in the heat the torch yields! A good minute blast is like almost 2 minutes or so with porpain!!
