Well I might be keeping the earthquake saw as a main saw now.:( My super 034 just lost all compression I'm pretty sure and I don't really want to buy a new saw right now. Looks like it's getting opened up but not ported or anything risky because I don't have much experience with these things. pizzer....:(

You would be surprised how well an old 034 will run. Resurrect that puppy. Even if you have to go as far as dropping it in a box. ;)

A set of Cabers is less than $15 and will give it some life. As long as it's not seized?

As for the shavings Clem, the muffler is open. Just use compressed air and/or water and wash/blow them out.

I know I would happily work on it, as well as MasterMech. May only tale a set of rings ($15) ? Throw in a new fuel line and impulse ($20). For around $30, it will have another 20 yrs :)

I think its free which is how he is able to feel no compression thru plug hole. Ring welded, y'all think, broke ring?

I have a tank with a small crack in the handle?

Is your tank leaking? Or just a cracked handle?

But a new Tank through Hull is cheap. I have won 2 tanks in an auction for the 034/036/360 for less than $30.

Just cause it turns over doesn't mean that it didn't seize and leave aluminum transfer.

It's got a cracked handle and tank although AC glued the pizz out of the tank with so e kind of really strong glue so it doesn't leak.

It runs but as soon as you hit wood the chain just slows and stops no matter the feudal air settings. It's been acting up for a while now I think today was the final hour so to speak.

Sounds like she's due for a rebuild. Pull the cyl, if it's clean then it's prob worth going ahead on.

Had some time to tinker yesterday. Finally got around to my first 4518 .

Popped 2nd pull ran third pull.

I figured out why it never had been in wood. The chain brake won't let the chain turn. And yes I have the brake off. I can get the brake assembly snug and tension chain and itwill spin free but when I tighten it down it like it binds it up. I am pretty sure the band has a place where it contacts the drum more than it should. I van with 2 screw drivers oil the chain around but its tough. It looks like one part may be bent inward contacting the drum???

I pulled the cover off the brake assemblybut there seems to be no adjustment I can see? Thoughts before I buy a new band?? May try to re count our this one first.
