Where is the auger cover set? If it's set pretty low you won't get enough pellets in the pot to trip the thermocouple (small fire = little heat) and start the feeding process. The thermocouple not touching the ceramic cover would do the same thing.
When running Low or Med? I always left it open 100%. You'll never over fire that stove on Medium. I also turned mine up 10% on the control board.
Because I ran on low most of the time (low and slow 24/7) it did help a lot. Because there was days I needed Med for a shirt period. The extra 10% on Low helped me a lot. It will be #2 on your control board for 10% increase. Be sure to unplug the stove before doing any work.
Hope mine can deal with fines because this is what went in the hopper this morning. Expecting a nice fireworks show before it's empty!
There's a story here. We have a plastic bin we put pellets into and then scoop them out. That picture is the bottom 3" of the bin after putting about 2+ tons of pellets through it. Haven't dumped it in a long time...Waste not, want not!
Bulk silos will do that too. If you keep a silo filled and don't let it empty out the dust accumulates. Then when it does start to run empty there will be a lot of extra dust. That's when silos with pneumatic systems (instead of augers) tend to have problems. Bulk pellet silos should never use pneumatic systems to unload them.
I have a bag of then as well. Can't wait to try them. Seeing how a member shipped them to me for free. They are now in my area, but it is about 1 hr and 45 min from me.
One place I would never buy pellets from is Lowes . I stopped in yesterday just to browse around and I 've never seen suck a miss handling of pellets , there were 3 pallets in front of the entrance stacked 2 high with broken bags everywhere with sawdust and swollen pellets hanging out of them . I walk to the garden section and now I see 4 single pallets in the same condition with puddles of water on top , looks like the dumpsters are going to be full .
