Played it again a few times and it does say hard or soft. The first time through I heard pine or soft. Guess I can't hear as well as see or spell!! :headbang:

    Sorry for the confusion!! :emb:

I can never run it on high, in the winter #2 or #3 in order to get 12 hours. I tried #4 just for a few minutes and the flames are NOT shooting straight up sort of speak, but I think it gets lazy and not uniform at all but dispersed....keep thoughts coming guys, with your cooperation I think we can come to the bottom of the problem, understanding this is not a prime pellet stove, but it has to do a better job..!!

Were you able to run it on high the first season and have no issues?

I actually don't remember ever trying higher than 3 as that setting seems to fit my needs, but don't really remember...I wonder what setting is that showing in the video showing a long tall flame, I can never get that nice flame.

I am assuming that pellets not getting burned all the way down is IN FACT an indication of an air flow problem, correct?

Geek...when cleaning your stove have you ever taken a rubber mallet or soft faced hammer and banged the crap out of the back of the firewall? This dislodges alt of crud that could be stuck in there.

Good question, what I've done and did this Friday when I cleaned the ports was a hard tap around the firebox and ports, up and down, with a big metal spoon.
When I opened the ports it was relatively clean there, I then used a brush and clean a little bit of ash next to the door but it was just a little bit. I also put my indoor vacuum in the port door.

Ash actually collects on the walls inside the exhaust path and sort of "cakes on". You wouldn't think it would do that but it does and the mallet gets all that crap off.

Jay, I think you mis-heard what he said. He said ".......premium grade hard or softwood pellets only......."

But it did run good at one time, Or was it always a bit of a struggle?

Using a vac on the vent will get some of the crud out. But I doubt is has the umph to get it all. Leaf blower has far more umph to get the stuck stuff..................

You've probably done this, But just checking!! Ash cleanouts were cleaned??

Here's the big wet/dry vac I use from outside and seal the vent tight with a plastic bag around it, wouldn't this have better force than my leaf blower? (Pics attached too). Never used leaf blower as it may need modifications on the bottom?
