Does water drain well from lower fixtures? Sounds like restriction past house heading to septic. Not sure how but I'd try to ug lower fixtures and drain upper tub to see what happens.

Yes, the lower bath drains fine without a volcano errupting in the toilets or showing up in the septic clean out pipe. Isn't this crazy bananas?

The new bath is connected somehow to the new plumbing on the kitchen sink, kitchen sink is on same lower level as old bath.

WildWildWest snaked the main drain the other night, problem persists.

    x2!

Oct is not soon enough for me, Yikes Oct 2013 was wicked. But, I am relieved to know we found someone to do it before Jan, and he is well known and in the business several decades now. :handshake:

(I still have fears of living in the RV this winter if mid Oct is too late :headbang:)

Not doubting his snaking but there could be a restriction and the snake will pass easy. Has it always done this too or did the water drain fine until one day.

We used this place for vacations for a year, offically moved in late 2013 (septic tank pumped at the same time for good measure). This never happened until we put the new bath into use in early 2015.

We hired a good plumber, he replumbed existing lower kitchen sink, and also NEW lines for plumbing to NEW higher bath. Immediately I saw the toilets blowing bubbles and called in for a septic pumping. I "assumed" it was the septic, there is no hatch/manhole on this system to inspect it..... That second pumping did not fix it the volcano toilets, but everything drained ok til a month or so ago. It started to overflow water from the septic cleanout pipe when we drained the new tub:doh:

We have very few building codes and they are not enforced, so who knows what is under the ground. We have a good idea where 1 or 2 leech lines run in the yard, but there is no way to inspect them or get them jetted that I am aware of (unlike my septic at previous home with a large lid, I could have fit down there if I needed to!).

I believe the septic system is from the 1960's when that owner added a kitchen and old bath. I did not know septic tanks without a manhole were available then? Also, we have an aged galvanized cistern for house water, I can't help but wonder if our septic tank is the same kind but with a cleanout pipe on top for the septic tank?

A kind septic pump business owner that has been out here in years past was nice enough to trouble shoot with me on the phone, he suggested both a plumbing vent problem AND clogged dirt around leech lines.

I do think we need a new system. My fear is that the new bathroom tub deluge will clog the baffle on the new system. Is it possible that's what happened here and that it can happen again?

I apologize, did not answer your question. The old system plugged up in the past, plunger or snake fixed it. Yes, this started to the day we used the new bathtub.

I appreciate your time for thinking about this :)

I missed that, what is ug lower fixtures? My mind read that as "plug" instead of ug. Is ug "under ground"?

Wild West is the drain lines for the lower bath accessible? You could put in a back water valve between where the new plumbing ties in and the lower bathroom. I am a plumber by trade since 97. I have dealt with lots of older things. Minnesota has some if the most strict codes and it definatly sounds like a venting issue. Shoot me a pm if you want to talk more about the issue at hand

I talked with wild west onthe phone tonight and what a wonderful person. It's amazing the people you can meet even via phone call. Hopefully we can get this squared away over pictures and talking. If I would of seen this thread earlier I probably would of just drove the 14 hours out there for the long weekend to get this figured out. It actually has been going through my mind since I read the thread and received some pictures last even. The op had a busy day so we just got back to the issue at hand tonight.

Hoping to check the main line via the plug tomorrow :)

Still on sched for new septic/leech in mid Oct, excavator said he will move us up if possible.

We are fortunate to be moved up in the schedule for new septic system. How did I not realize we would not have toilets for 5 days?!??!?!?

RV will be out front for solids, but what about early morning potty?

Looking for suggestions/input please, what would you do?

    Looking at this online

"How did I not realize we would not have toilets for 5 days?!??!?!?" ... I bet that was fun to hear... :hair: We had a bucket rig like that at the cabin when we first started building. They work. And they're cheap too.
