That's what the programmer is for. I don't know about those but most of the others you don't need anything to plug back in any more.

Have to use a tuner to totally reprogram the truck. There's a few different ones but I went with the sct. Just plugs in under the dash like a Ford garage would do with a computer. 1439669761905.jpg

Correct. You have to tune the truck first and that will disable all dpf, scr, and egr sensors. I just taped the ends up and tied them off with zip ties. There are 12 total no longer in use between on the frame and under the hood. You can see the ones easily on top of the dpf canister now that it's out. 1439669931773.jpg 1439670181812.jpg

All done! Went well and everything works exactly like it should! Standing in front it's no louder at idle and the smoke is very minimal which is what I wanted.. Definitely has a rumble when you stand by the tip now that it didn't have before. The biggest difference is how loud the turbo is - sounds great! I'm looking forward to a few weeks of driving to see what kind of mileage gains I experience.

The finished exhaust! 4" pipe back to the factory muffler. 1439670543407.jpg 1439670637188.jpg

Hope all works as planned. I didn't change my down pipe and GM doesn't use a muffler. Mine is a little louder but when you let off the throttle the turbo spins down and you definitely hear that. Need to invest in a whole exhaust system, it drives the wife nuts.

Forgot the under hood pic of the egr plates and probe. The lower plate has an egt probe that we ran through the firewall where it connects with the tuner to monitor egt temps. 1439680062179.jpg 1439680111286.jpg 1439680183948.jpg

Wow, it's really busy in there.

I had an '01 Dodge/Cummins, and I could almost climb in and sit down.

Was it the 6.4s where they would pull the cab off for a head job?

Is this thing not under warranty still?? Are you not worried of a warranty issue and having to put all that crap back on cause they will try and weezel out of the repair?

With most of that gone the likelihood of a warranty claim went down about 75%.

I figured that but I think I would of still waited. He only has 35k on it.

These new trucks eat injectors I have heard.

A logger I know has a f450 thats not even 2 years old and I know his transmission just stopped and locked in a gear or something a few months back. Had to be towed to the dealer to fix. Only had like 40k miles on it.

Yeah it's under warranty. I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever but the likelihood of having one went down by getting rid of that stuff.

That is why I went with the egr blocker plates instead of the full delete. Much easier return to the stock setup.

I swear it was booby trapped trying to get to that lower plate. Every sharp clamp and fitting in there got my hand or arm..lol.. Not sure what all requires the cab lift, but when I bought this one the Ford dealer had the cab of a 6.7 raised for some motor work. My buddy that helped me has an 01 Cummins and he just shook his head at the under hood configuration of the 6.7..lol..

I've put clutches and stuff on trucks with less than 1k miles. I used to be real into the performance side of stuff. I guess it's the same difference as tearing a new saw apart that's made 3 cuts at the dealer. I've only had 3 warranty claims in 14 years and around 550k miles in 10 different trucks. A few were daily drivers with up to 600 hp.

Interested to hear back on what your fuel mileage does. Nice write-up!

I have a '99 7.3 so none of the DPF issues, but I suppose some day I could own a 6.7

I was more thinking like my example of a transmission issue or say a cooling issue or something like that. They see the non factory parts and claim they can't be sure that this issue was not cause by that ...so they weesel out of the repair that way.

I and you know thats not the truth but all a warranty is ...is them trying g to blame something on you so they dont have to pay for it. Esp in a case of aftermarket stuff.

I hope you have a trouble free million miles out of it. Do t get me wrong. I just dont trust stealerships. :)

I've had stuff repaired that wasn't something caused by it. A lot of dealers are more mod friendly now since it keeps the trucks out of their hair more.
