Well guys definitely the tank. Drained it and checked the air. Had about a whole 2 pounds in it. Got a new bigger tank but after going to 3 stores had to order the fittings. I want to make it so you don't have to disconnect everything if I need to change it again. Pumped the old tank up and hope it holds for a little while.
I had to pump up ours last year, but did it wrong and the pump ran way too often. I finally figured out how to do it the right way, and haven't had a problem with it since. I plan to check it again soon, just to see if it's holding.

i just had to replace my pump , and i fixed some plumbing issues from the previous owners , i drained and pumped the pressure tank to 28 psi for a 30/50 setting and bam it worked perfect , i can run about 8 gallons before the pump kicks on .
I replaced the pump not that long ago. Pumped the tank up a while back and just had to do it again. Got all the stuff just need to find thetime.
Out of curiosity when I replace the tank should I clean the system? If so how, or can I just let it run a while? Planning on doing it this weekend.
I think outside of just letting it run. There's not a lot to do to clean it. My warer system gets black sediment crap only on the galvanized pipe sections. My dad said it's from a galvanic process. Whatever it's gross. I removed as much of that old pipe and replaced it with copper when I put a shut off ball valve after the tank when I bought the house on 08.
Yup. I helped a buddy with his. Just kick the well pump on and off a few times. Not much else you can do i dont think. We used a wet/dry vac to catch everything.
That's what I was thinking just let it run a while. I wasn't sure if it was recommended to do anything to clean the tank. Guess it's like replacing a piece of pipe you don't clean everything after that.
you can sanitize your well and the complete plumbing system pretty easy with bleach I use to do it every year
There's probably no need if you just did it just flush the lines like others have mentioned, should be good I usually just pour some in the well and run the water till I can smell it. let it sit a short while then run water till the smell goes away. I will hook a hose at the tank and throw it outside to run. don't want the bleach in the septic tank
TurboDiesel or anyone else that knows. Here's my new problem. Once every so often I have to go down and click the pump on with the silver handle. The pressure gauge shows 0 but as soon as I hit the switch it jumps up to operating pressure. What would cause this? Contacts sticking maybe?
Yep, your switch is probably needing a cleaning, or maybe just needing replacement. They are under $40. IIRC, they were right around $20.
